Box Assembly: This position is responsible for the assembly of the bulk cheese boxes, lining the box with plastic and cheese cloth and setting the finished box in line for filling. The boxes are assembled by interlocking wooden  sides and using a banding machine to secure the sides together.  A plastic liner is then inserted into the box. A cheese cloth is placed on a dolly cart with the assembled box and pushed to the Fill Point operator for filling. All boxes are charted according to customer orders and tracked on daily operating sheets.

Make Room Sanitation: At the end of each days run, each room and piece of equipment must be cleaned and sanitized according to plant cleaning  procedures. The day shift Box Maker is responsible for brush scrubbing the drain tables, agitators,  tracks and other equipment in the make room; rinsing the same, along with the floor and drains and sanitizing the room. Additional special weekly cleaning projects also exist.

Individuals hired for the night shift box maker position rotate between the packaging room positions instead of end of day sanitizing.
